Position Fifth-year graduate student Role Atmospheric & Oceanic Science Bio/Description I come from Singapore and studied in the UK at the University of Cambridge before arriving at Princeton, where, outside of my academic work, I am involved in community building and diversity and inclusion efforts such as through Intersecting Queer Identities / Queer Graduate Caucus. As a graduate peer coach, I hope that, through our sessions, you will walk away with practical strategies, concrete targets, and a clearer path toward working on whatever you wish to improve upon. These could range from procrastination to effective goal-setting across different time horizons. In addition, many of us in graduate school experience other issues, such as imposter stress or difficult relationships with committee members and other peers. As a queer, international student who’s the first in the family to go to graduate school, I am particularly aware of issues that affect students who are also in these groups. If you are facing some of these challenges, I will always provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to discuss whatever is on your mind, help you find the strategies and solutions that work best for you, and point you to other resources on campus, while always emphasizing the importance of practicing self-compassion.
