Alison McGregor joins the McGraw Center for Teaching Learning in the role of Instructor and Testing Coordinator for the English Language Program. She supports international graduate students and postdoctoral researchers through the teaching, tutoring, and testing of oral English proficiency skills. Prior to joining the McGraw Center, Alison specialized in oral English communication skills for international teaching assistants, international graduate students, and MBA students at the University of Texas at Austin for fifteen years. She has also worked as an accent modification coach for working professionals who are non-native speakers of English. Alison holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis on learning, cognition, and instruction from the University of Texas at Austin and engages in applied linguistics research focused on the comprehensibility of oral English, factors in effective pronunciation instruction, and American English intonation.
