Event Description

The McGraw Center has launched a Canvas course for faculty on equitable teaching: this asynchronous course allows you to explore some recommended practices surrounding equitable teaching and to learn about the context of equity and inclusion at Princeton while developing materials we hope you can use in your courses at your own pace and in your own timeline.

As part of this Canvas course, participants are invited to attend the first of three Zoom meetings on Thursday, November 3rd, 12-1 PM. In this Zoom meeting you will learn about the Canvas site, ask questions, share insights with each other and in small groups to workshop a handout, syllabus, assessment, or other piece of a course you would like to design towards more equity. These sessions are a way to meet with other faculty engaged in teaching equitably in a low-stakes environment. It will be helpful to bring to the session some material that would benefit from feedback from colleagues and/or that you would like to begin designing (eg, an assessment, a syllabus statement, pre-course survey, a course goal that you are refining or simply a plan for what you would like to design and brainstorm). You will come out of this workshop with at least one clear goal in mind for increasing equity in a current or future course and (if you choose) some ideas and feedback regarding one specific aspect of your course.

We recommend you register and review the Canvas course prior to attending the Zoom meeting, but the Zoom meeting is open to faculty who may be interested in more information and joining the Canvas course at a later date.
