What to Do the First Week to Start the Semester Strong

A lot happens during the first week of the fall semester—and every week—at Princeton, so you’ll want to get organized from the start. Devote some time to learning about resources, planning and scheduling, plus building your time management skills in customized workshops or a one-to-one academic coaching session with a learning consultant. It’s easier to keep up than to catch up

  • Attend the Academic Expo in Frick and get information about the McGraw Center and other campus resources on Monday, September 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • Come to McGraw’s Orientation Event “Making the Most of the First Week of Classes: A Student Panel” (see the Orientation Calendar) on Tuesday, September 13 in 330 Frist, at 9:00 a.m. and again at 10:00 a.m.

  • Ask any and all of your questions of McGraw Learning Consultants at our workshop, “Start Your Semester Strong on Wednesday, September 14, in 329 Frist from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m., or Friday, September 16in 330 Frist from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

  • Sign up for a McGraw Learning Consultation to plan out your schedule for the coming week—or even the whole semester—and learn how to break down a syllabus and use it as a useful guide to learning.

  • RSVP for one of the McGraw time management workshops Mapping Your Semester for Balance and Success on either Wednesday, September 21, in 329 Frist from 8:30 to10:00 p.m., or Friday, September 23, in 330 Frist from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
