March 12, 2014 Princeton began to explore the potential of online learning in the spring of 2012, and has since developed 16 free and open classes offered to the world via the Coursera platform. A new partnership with NovoEd, announced in February, expands opportunities for interactive, project-based learning in an online environment. Several Princeton faculty members are keen to bring students into this new online classroom; they include Professor Jeremy Adelman, whose World History Since 1300 will be taught synchronously on the Princeton campus and as a MOOC on NovoEd.
