McGraw's York '17 participates in 'Ferguson to Dallas to Charlotte' policy forum

Asanni York '17, a McGraw Center Learning Strategies Consultant, participated in a daylong forum titled "From Ferguson to Dallas to Charlotte: Racial Justice and Policing in America.”  York sat on the "Role of Activism in Effecting Change” panel.

York is studying public policy and is obtaining certificates in African American studies, gender and sexuality studies and American studies. He is the co-president of the Black Student Union on campus, as well as a member of the Black Justice League and is involved in activist work around LGBT issues. He is interested in prison abolition work, law reform for previously incarcerated people, as well as severing the school-to-prison pipeline.
