The Politics of the Classroom: Who Speaks? Who is Heard?

On February 16, 2016, Dean of the College Jill Dolan moderated a conversation among faculty and students who seek to advance campus conversations about gender, race, class and ethnic identity and the experience of the Princeton classroom. Panelists included Jennifer Rexford, chair of the Department of Computer Science; Miguel Centeno, chair of the Department of Sociology; Tracy Smith, Director of the Program in Creative Writing; Angelina Sylvain, doctoral student in Neuroscience; Marni Morse ’17, The Princeton School of Public and International Affairs; and Ogemdi Ude ’15, English. Following the panel, small group discussions continued over dinner at Prospect House.
