Are you eager to develop a community of writers and feel motivated to write? Are you looking for the incentive to write regularly, and to practice communicating your ideas to supportive readers outside your discipline?
Join us this Spring at the McGraw Center to launch a pilot program of small, robust, interdisciplinary groups of post-Generals graduate students to workshop writing. Beginning with a launch event in early March, the groups will convene virtually once a week over 9 weeks for 75 minutes. The goal is to offer supportive environments for graduate students to clarify and develop their writing projects, increase their motivation and create accountability, and also create connections that combat the loneliness and isolation that can accompany dissertation writing.
This is a wonderful opportunity to form a writing community, meet your writing goals, and develop your skills to give and receive feedback. Since the groups will be online (via Google Hangout), you need not be in the area to participate. We do ask, however, that you attend the launch event on March 2nd 2020 from 4:30-6 p.m.
- RSVP here to confirm that you can attend the in-person launch event at the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning on March 2nd at 4:30 p.m.
- Please complete our registration form to commit to participate in a virtual writing group (online meetings) for the Spring 2020 term. Weekly meeting times will be determined by individual groups.
